"The vignettes trigger a comforting realization, understanding that between the ages of 20-30, really and truly, not much of the world will make any sense."
"Comfort’s sparse, natural writing is paired with excellent performances..."
"...it is refreshing as hell."
"This energetic set of four short plays... was met by a big, enthusiastic audience on its opening night."
"...talented actors in a story that left the audience feeling upbeat, engaged, and very satisfied."
Until recently, Comfort had focused his writing and directing talents primarily on film. Fans of his work are quite familiar with his groundbreaking web series “Avenue Avery,” which he single handedly wrote, directed and produced. However, in the last few years Comfort’s love of the theater was fostered through Ithaca’s own Actor’s Workshop of Ithaca Theater Training Studio (AWI), where he studied before serving as a teaching assistant. Comfort has branched out, writing show stopping one act plays for the Workshop. His funny yet poignant pieces are known for their appeal not just to regular theater goers, but to people who have little to no prior exposure to the theater.
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported Epoch! The 2016 Ithaca Fringe Festival was one hell of a ride, and we look forward to coming back and wowing everyone again in 2017.
